COVID-19: Our Response in a Time as This! (vol 2)

The Name of The Lord is a Strong Tower!

The name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous runneth into it and they are safe.

I have seen and heard stories of the name of the Lord indeed shielding men from evil. I have seen this same name save me from direct bullet shot at me! The name of Jesus is indeed a strong tower. While we all take to heart all the COVID-19 precautionary measures being shared out there, I have committed to sharing another aspect – the supernatural power of God’s word in this season!

In the book of 2Chronicles 32: 1 – 23, we read about a mighty king on earth who had conquered several nations and destroyed them and their gods. He had rendered powerful armies useless, pulled down fenced cities, and taken their people captive.

This king’s name was Sennacherib king of Assyria! Suddenly, he came into Judah and decided to attack the city. Jerusalem was inside Judah and was in fact the capital of Judah. King Hezekiah was then king of Judah and practically had no clue what to do against this powerful king and his army.

Note that King Hezekiah had witnessed these same Assyrians conquer northern Isreal some years back during the reign of King Sennacherib’s father in 722 BC. King Sennacherib and his powerful armies were now inside Judah already and wanted to take the capital city Jerusalem.

The king of Judah, King Hezekiah was physically helpless against this king. All he and his princes could do was to stay back indoors and shut themselves up inside Jerusalem.

This looks similar to the situation we find ourselves in today. From scriptures, we know that sicknesses and diseases are spirits. Jesus Christ cast them out. The Coronavirus of 2019 has a spiritual undertone. It’s a demon backed virus that boasts of having claimed many lives globally and is still claiming lives. Doctors and researchers are still quite helpless on how exactly to deal with it. and the whole world is gripped in fear.

The major resort has been to lockdown. Cities are locking themselves in. Nations locking themselves in. Families are being asked to lock themselves in. This was how helpless king Hezekiah and his people were.

However, I have come to announce to you that the name of the Lord is a strong tower! The righteous runneth into that name and are safe. There is an extent to which we can secure our homes but the name of the Lord will do the perfect job.

What did King Hezekiah do? First, he took practical steps – they stopped the waters aiding king Sennacherib’s army and beefed up security by raising the walls of Jerusalem much higher. He set captains on guard over the people like we are doing today. Setting up isolation centers, setting up special test centers, etc.

However, much similar to the situation of king Hezekiah and his people. All their physical efforts were just not good enough. We all hear news of how unprepared our nation is in tackling the pandemic. And we can see the casualties increasing!

What’s more, king Sennacherib started attacking the faith of God’s people. Reminding the armies of Israel how he had wasted nations, reminding the Jews how other gods could not save their people.

Then what was the response of the Jews? They reminded themselves of God’s Word – beefed up their faith!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said.

16 Sennacherib’s officers spoke further against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah. 17 The king also wrote letters ridiculing the Lord, the God of Israel, and saying this against him: “Just as the gods of the peoples of the other lands did not rescue their people from my hand, so the god of Hezekiah will not rescue his people from my hand.”

And then they remembered and called upon the Name of The LORD! Hallelujah!

20 And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.

And immediately,

21 And the Lord sent an angel, who annihilated all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of the Assyrian king. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he went into the temple of his god, some of his sons, his own flesh and blood, cut him down with the sword.

22 So the Lord saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all others. He took care of them[c] on every side. 23 Many brought offerings to Jerusalem for the Lord and valuable gifts for Hezekiah king of Judah. From then on he was highly regarded by all the nations.

When we call upon the name of the LORD not out of fear but out of trust and genuine faith in His name, His angels are assigned to beef up a hedge around us and to deal a heavy blow on the enemy. Coronaviruses are spirit controlled. This one of 2019 is no different. It is time to fortify our towers – our homes, our cities with the name of the LORD.

We have locked down, staying back at home. It’s time to build up our walls in the name of the LORD! He will not only secure our homes, our families, our parents, our loved ones, He has the power to destroy the virus, whether by fast-tracking its vaccine or treatment whichever way or by defeating its attack-mechanism (the strong attackers of Sennacherib’s army were first taken out). I am confident in God’s name. If no one else will cry out, let’s be the ones to. The bible says the prayer of one righteous man availeth much! Let us be the Hezekiah and Isaiah to cry out to God!

I don’t care how many lives have been wasted already in more sophisticated nations of the world. Let the virus keep boasting itself on CNN and all mainstream media. It has the arm of flesh. We come in the name of the LORD! Already we know how unprepared Africa is for this, so where else will be our trust? No much thanks to our African leaders, we will trust in the name of our GOD!

Lift up the name of Jesus today over yourself, over your children, over your parents, over your loved ones, let your faith be beefed up via this Word, and lift up His name today!

Viruses are creeping things, this specific one settles to the ground being a lot heavier than air. And we have authority over everything that creepeth upon the face of the earth! Yes, so the bible says! (Gen 1:26)

…and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

This too shall be defeated. It shall pass away! For the sake of the church who call upon the name of the LORD!

See, we are in the end times. These things are bound to happen as humanity continues to reject God’s ways and accept the ways of the devil. It is the natural outcome of rejecting the ways of God, God is not to blame! We are legally the ones running the show on earth.
However, according to scriptures as long as the church remains on earth, the devil will always be stopped until the day the church gets raptured! And I don’t wanna be left behind!

Lastly, when the name of the LORD is lifted up as a hedge around us, there is one thing that can break the hedge – sin! Joshua 6:18 calls it “the accursed thing”. It is time to stay away from the accursed thing. Let the devil have no hold of accusation over your home.

Stay blessed my people! Catch ya tomorrow! And keep on living on purpose!
